If you have received an email with our domain name included anywhere in the message, please be aware that this use of our domain name is unauthorized. Sep 2005 - Another Subject line used for almost an identical phishing mail as the one below seems to be "System maintenance: update your Federal Credit Union". Other stuff seems to be very similar (including lines such a "Your case ID for this reason is...". This one had a fake From address from a government address (ncua.gov). Sep 2005 - The latest phishing report has been reported as showing "Subject: Account Restricted. Please read!" in the Subject of the mail. It also includes a fake From address as if coming from creditunion.com. The body of the mail includes authentic sounding lines such as "Your case ID for this reason is ....". As with other phishing scams, the links in the mail will take you to some website that will try to get your account information. So do not submit any information. In fact, you should not click on the links in the email at all. If you think the mail may be authentic, contact your bank first to check if they really sent that email. July 2005 - It has come to our attention that scammers have been maliciously sending out a scam message displaying creditunion.com URL in the mail body. The subject of this message is: Credit Union National Association Security Notice - Card-Systems Breach. In the spam message, the author seems to be running a phishing scam by displaying the domain name creditunion.com while the actual link directs the user to a phishing site that collects your personal information. This is fraud and a primary cause for identity theft. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY INFORMATION UPDATING YOUR ACCOUNT |
